The oceanarium’s huge 2.5 million-litre tank has five different species of sharks, whom you can meet as you dive down into the waters. If you have always wanted to go deep down the ocean waters but did not get a diving licence, then Cage Rage is the perfect solution to your problem. Wear all the diving equipment and hop onto a custom-made cage, which will take you down to the oceanarium. Relax as you get up close and personal with the mighty sharks and other vibrant marine animals without needing to dive around.

Aquaria KLCC tickets take you to the first zone, which is the Evolution Zone. Spot stunningly beautiful exotic marine species like red-bellied piranhas, horseshoe crabs, etc. Head to the Gene Pool, where children get to interact with starfish, clownfish, and stingrays. A native of South America, the red-bellied shark lives in groups of more than a hundred individuals. They hunt their prey by attacking its eyes and tail first to immobilise them. The brown-banded bamboo shark comes from the Indo-West Pacific and is known as the "cat shark" due to the whiskers-like barbels around the snout. They are nocturnal feeders and use the barbels to locate their prey.

The second zone you visit with the Aquaria KLCC tickets is the Stream, which is home to amphibians, insects, and many dangerous marine creatures. The highlight of the zone is the Asian Small-clawed Otter, and their Otter Den is filled with pools and waterslides where they feed and have fun with their handlers.Native to the Indo-West Pacific, the Asian Small-clawed Otter has double layers of fur to keep them warm as they swim in cold waters. They have a unique ability to close their ears and nostrils to block water from entering inside the body when they swim. Their strong hind legs and tails help them propel and steer in the desired direction during swimming.

As the name suggests, this zone brings to life a realistic shipwreck with its tank resembling the ship’s interiors. Spot Red Lionfish and Reef Stonefish swimming through the broken china and pottery of the wrecked ship, and take a Coral Walk to witness the vibrant corals of Malaysia.Native to the Pacific Ocean, the Red Lionfish are ambush predators, who use their bright brown and white “zebra stripes” to camouflage as they wait for their prey to approach. Their attractive fan-like fins have a deadly venom that protects them from predators. Another species here is the Reef Stonefish, which comes from the Indo-Pacific Ocean and is also an ambush predator.

Encounter Giant Freshwater Stingrays, Arapaima, and Alligator Gar Fishes at the Deep Forest with your Aquaria KLCC tickets. The zone includes a giant cylindrical tube and is located on Level 2 of the oceanarium.The Giant Freshwater Stingrays of the zone come from Indo-China and Borneo and have a stinger barb which injects predators with deadly venom when threatened. They mostly hide away by being partially buried in the sand as self-defence. Another species is the Arapaima, which has a vacuum-like mouth that sucks up nearby food or prey. Their main dietary requirement is fish, and they also feed on fruits, seeds, insects, birds and mammals found on water surfaces.

The Coastal is a small exhibit and has two enchanting marine creatures – the Giant Mudskipper and the Archerfish. The Giant Mudskipper is a native of Southeast Asia and is an amphibious fish that lives in water and is well-adapted to life on land. Their large frog-like eyes move independently, and they use their pelvic and pectoral fins to walk on land. The Archerfish, on the other hand, come from the Indo-Pacific and are super quick in the waters. They can take down their prey by spitting an “arch” of water at them, and can potentially shoot up to seven streams in one mouthful of water.

One of the most awe-inspiring exhibits you can access with your Aquaria KLCC tickets is the Living Ocean, which has a 90-metre long transparent tunnel. Walk through this tunnel and witness the magic of being surrounded by the ocean and its inhabitants, like the Sand Tiger Sharks, Green Sea Turtles, Giant Moray Eels, and several other vibrant species.Sand Tiger Sharks come from the Indo-West Pacific and the Atlantic and develop teeth when they are embryos in the womb. Green Sea Turtles, on the other hand, change their diet from carnivorous when young to herbivorous when they mature. Native to tropical and subtropical coastal waters, the turtles have a sharp, strong, horny beak which is perfect for chopping seagrasses.

The final exhibit that one visits with their Aquaria KLCC tickets is the small Station Aquarium, which is home to the beautiful Moon Jelly and Seahorses.The Moon Jelly is native to the subtropical to polar regions and has tentacles with stinging cells that are used to hunt prey and protect from predators. Male counterparts of the species release their sperm through the mouth into the water column, which is then received and fertilised by the female counterpart. Seahorses, on the other hand, reproduce by the male seahorse self-fertilising the eggs that the female transfers to it, and then the males go through birth contractions that last up to 12 hours. Natives of the Southwest Pacific, seahorses are poor swimmers but have prehensile tails to grasp objects and anchor themselves to avoid drifting away.

Meet bioluminescent fishes, or fishes that glow, with your Aquaria KLCC tickets at Weird and Wonderful. The tiny exhibit has neon lighting, giving a starry look to its corridors. The main highlights of the zone are the Pinecone Fish and the Giant Pacific Octopus.Pinecone Fish come from the Indo-West Pacific and have uniquely distinctive plate-like scales. They use their bioluminescence to attract planktons at night and can switch their glow on and off with their jaw movements. Another species here is the Giant Pacific Octopus, which is believed to be one of the smartest animals in the world. They are reddish-brown but can change their body texture and pattern and release a cloud of dark ink when threatened.
